Does anyone have any grape caulerpa they want to share. I have a new Naso and it seems for now thats all he's interested in. Hopefully I can get him to accept the mix I give the rest of the fish but for now he just snubs his nose at it. the mix has lots of shrimp, red algae, seaweed, etc in it. I'm in Olympia so anyone close to Oly that can share some would be nice. Would be willing to purchase.

hey reefer, cool name by the way, i live in washington and work at blue sierra. i don't know if you have heard of it but it is an exotic fish store in issaquah. we have a couple pieces of grape caulerpa you can buy if no one else has any closer to you. this is our website if you want directions: www.bluesierraexotics.com.

This has been working well for my naso. I go to the asian grocery and get two things. one is a bag of nori for sushi at 1.99 vs 9.99 at lfs, and the other is a bag of seaweed, it is dried kelp they have more trouble eating it but the do eat it, by just attacking it till they get a piece. I have noticed that they spend alot of time during the day attacking the kelp and it is fun to watch. the kelp is only 99 cent for 7 ozs. They seem to like the kelp because it is just dried and still has the salt from the ocean on it. I rinse it in rodi and roll it up and rubberband it to a piece of live rock. It works for me and may work for you as well. HTH. Steve.

Are you planning on growing it in a refugium for your own harvest, or are you looking for bulk to feed him. It grows rather quickly.

Blue Sierra, One of my favorites. Stop by everytime I'm in the Seattle area. My wife is beginning to dislike the place as I always leave with something.

Thanks Steve. Good ideas. I feed my other fish Nori but so far the Naso is not interested. He's kind of sneaky when he eats. I've been really keeping an eye on what he eats and doesn't eat. When I fed some brine shrimp tonight he cruizes through the water and whatever is in his way goes into his open lips. So I guess he is eating other stuff but he is just very suttle about it. The other fish chase down the food while he just waits till some food gets in his way.

I know it grows fast and furious and it would be in a refugium. I'm just looking for some to keep him eating until he starts eating other stuff.

I was just asking because I figured I could ship you enough for "seed" for your refugium if you needed it, but shipping bulk would be kind of a pain.
