I have a 180 I need to drill out. I would appreciate some feedback in how big of holes I should go, where I should put them, and should I aim for a closed loop while I'm at it? I'd prefer to have a custom box 8"x8"x8" centered but an worried of structural strength. I'll probably go for a high end bit just because I'd rather be safe than sorry (which is rare for me). Also, I've read my butt off in the how-tos and everyone makes it sound so simple. I've drilled hole saws in wood without a pilot bit and it skates all over the place. Anyone experience this in their glass?

Thanks everyone!
Paul

To stop the bit from "walking", start the bit at an angle. Once a little groove is started at an angle, you can raise the drill bit from the glass, straiten it out and start to make your hole. Let the tool do the work for you. Try to stay away from the edges of the glass, and try to space the holes apart at least the diameter of the hole saw. For instance, If you drill a 2 1/2" hole, make it at least 2 1/2" away from the edges and at least 2 1/2" away from any other hole.

Paul, Your more than welcome to come by and take a looky. I drilled 10 holes in my 180 not for C/L but for OM 8way. I may be of some help on the C/L ( what I liked and should I say DISLIKED ). Good luck
