Last October I posted on another forum about these polyps and no one could identify them and I was told they would most likely die off.
Here we are ten months later and they are multiplying (I started with two)
and I still dont know what they are. They do have a mouth in the center of the disc and WILL eat anything put there for them silversides to pellet food it doesnt matter.
Now that there bigger ( Larger than a quarter) I was wondering if anyone one could ID them now.

Those look like a palythoa or protopalythoa sp. and they will spread thoughout your tank.
Sometimes they can get out of control if you are not careful.
I like those.:)

i agree with finn, those look like palys or protos. , and certainly have great coloration for this type of coral which usually is on the brown side of things.

You know now that you mention it these were brown under my original lighting which was 260 watt power compact but have changed to a fluorescent green under the 432 watt T-5 lighting.Finn says they can get out of control, Im more worried about the pulseing Zenia that has REALLY taken off with the T-5. anyone want some Xenia.

We have a small reef group that meets every month if interested:)

Well If I could throw a rock over the Susquehanna river I would hit Wilkes-Barre, I'm in Kingston, I can give you two stalks if you want them,(got anything to trade?) just let me get some rubble to tranfer them. As for the palythoa or protopalythoa sp. Im not sure how to remove them with out killing or removing the entire rock.

hey reefbound I am up by the pocono raceway. welcome.

Thanks Steve, Im not very good at this fragging thing Im afraid Im going to kill whatever... right now the only thing i have is pumping Zenia...and maybe some yellow polyps.

were having a meeting on the 16th we can show you how to frag some things from my tank.

Yes I believe the bubble coral is going under the blade. HE HE HE HE. Steve do you have anything easy for show and tell?? If not I see bout how easy it is to pull my shroom rock and maybe the zoo rock. Steve I think if we deliver the baby sucessfully maybe should leave in your system till next time just so it can stay in the water it is used to helping it survive by itself in the big new world. Tim is gonna miss has a pistol match and Joe is noreply so far.
