I lost one of my chromis's. It did NOT get sucked up into anything, and I didnt see it in my LR anywhere. last night I had 3 in my tank, then after I was playing tag with my doughter, running around the tank, I noticed one was missing. I looked all around my tank on the floor the best I could as well as the sump and no dice...

what should I do, if he is indeed still in my tank? just watch my ammonia levels? and do WC's?

I'm going to try to move the tank tonight and see if he flipped underneath the tank. I reall do not want to move all my LR to find him. Not that I have a lot, but still a pain.

would one dead chromis (really small) effect my 55 gallon tank much? with a 20 gallon sump?

Carbon?

I lost one before, but my hermits, shrimp, and starfish consumed him real fast... I only found what was left of it's head... picked clean to the bone.

well I hope this doesn't effect my system too bad, because I just got it going GOOD.. Everything looks good and is growing. I'll check for ammonia every other day for a week or so. I'll do water changes as well to ensure that the water quality is still good. I'd hate to lose everything because of one tiny little chromis that seemed to perform a disappearing act.

Those chromis chase each other outa the water! My chromis jump all the time and hit their heads on the lights....duh.....they are worse than the devil blue damsels :razz::D

No it will not.... asumeing your tank is stable and established.

Ive lost 3 cromie's to the floor god..... they jump when they get spooke

I have what we call the "Ghost Chromis"

We thought it was dead, didn't see it in a month. Then all of a sudden I noticed it hiding in the live rock and it was so pale it was almost white. Now it only comes out at night when all the other fish are tucked away for bed.

Beware the Ghost Chromis!

well its been one full day and no sign of him yet.

iv had a cromie make it 5 feet from the tank... took me weeks to find

I had one of my three chromis disappear this week too. Before he disappeared, I saw that his tail and fin had been chewed-upon...I suspect the other chromis (who have paired up and are always very kissy-kissy with eachother  )

Yup... they're jumpers. I was looking at my tank one time at night and I hear this "thwank"... the sound of something hitting the lights. I look up and see one of my chromis laying perfectly still on the partial glass cover I have over the tank. No flipping, no nothing. I just scoot him back into the water and he swims away like nothing happened. He's still going strong to this day.

They do spook easy it seems. After that incident, I don't make real sudden movements around my tank.

I had 3 chromis in my tank, then suddenly there was only two. I looked in my overflow, my sump and all my lines, but nothing. Then when I was moving some stuff around I found him all dried up next to the tank on the floor. I think that the other 2 chromis pushed him, he was the bully!

between the birds hitting the window( my inside birds (cockatiels all over 10 years old)) and the chromis hiitting the canopy it keeps me on my toes!

this same chromis that is missing, I saw him laying on his side on the sand bed once. Like he had a stroke. Then i tapped on the glass and he was fine..lol. crazy stupid fish
