Heater Placement in Sump?

I run my heater in my overflow rather than the sump, that way if my return pump fails I know the stuff I actually care about isn't going to get cold.

I have mine in the first compartment of the sump, next to my skimmer and filter sock because that is the only compartment that I can get it far enough in the water due to its length.

Dang nobody keeping one in the fuge area. That's the only place mine will fit as its 13" long. It's a 20L sump. My fuge area is 12Wx13L.
Should be ok right?

Don't think it really matters all that much. Just a personal choice.
As long as it's in the water.
