Welcome to RF. This is a great place with a lot of good people that have helped me out many many times. Im sure you'll like it here!

Thanks everyone. I was a cichlid fanatic for many years until moving to Maine. I had the hankerin for another tank and went to the store to get a new set-up and let that store owner talk me into a salt water set-up. What a a smart financial decision that was LOL. Tough at first, a whole new learning curve, but has turned into a satisfying experience. I have a 54 corner and 3 10 gallon set ups. One 10 is a quarantee tank (Another tough lesson learned).
The other 2 are set up to hold corals for me as I get my 175 going. Unfortunately I went on vacation and I don't have a auto fill system for the 10's and my neighbor didn't quite understand filling the tanks back up and was to late to save anything by the time he called me and said something. So a lot of carnage happened for nothing not to speak the money lost. Any hoot this looks like a really great place and hope to share stories and info for many years to come. Thanks again

Sorry Jerry.. just saw I called you Jai - that's my friend's name. Must have been on the phone with him or something when I was typing and got side tracked. So what's the reef tank scene like where you are? Here in Seattle, I'd say there is a pretty big demand for saltwater/reef type setups. We have a nice club and there seems to be some pretty good trading action that goes on with corals. Is it similar where you are?

Pretty limited here. Only a handful of reefers around. I do most of my buisness via the enternet. The local pet store owner does reef systems so he gets a fair amount of stuff in. There is a lady 80 miles south of me in the middle of no where that has a live coral shop. Nice stuff but pricey. I usually buy fish thru Foster and Smith. They have a pretty awesome no questions asked warranty.
