Yes you can cut these in the tank. They dont slime up like toadstools do. What I use is a pair of kitchen shears. The kind you get in the kitchen store for cutting raw chicken. They are sharper than regular scissors. Make one cut al the way thru. The coral will heal up at that cut and the piece you cut off, I set in a very low flow area with some rubble. Set a piece of rubble on top of the cut end. It will attach itself. I have also sewn, yes with needle and thread, the cut end to a piece of rubble. When it attaches, just clip the thread and pull it out. I actually do that to most all leathers and sinularias and those types of corals.

Thanks for pointing it out. I took the first trimming tonight. It had stretched over and was attaching to the rock next to it.
