Greetings, all.

I have been lurking on the boards for some time and thought that I may as well post and see if there are any members in the Yakima area.

I have a 120g RR AGA that has been up and running for about 7 months, gratuitous FTS below.

Looking forward to joining in on the discussions and potentially meeting some members a bit closer to me.

Glad your here and posting now... sweet looking tank. Looks like some really pretty corals in there.

Welcome Brian! :welcome:. Great looking tank! What are the specs? :)

Thanks for the kind words!

Tank is a standard AGA, reef ready lit by 6 of Rapid LEDs par 38 bulbs suspended from a DIY light rack. Stand was also DIY and houses a 55g sump which holds my Avast Marine skimmer, return pump and heaters. Flow provided by one MP40 and a Koralia 1050, which will eventually be replaced with another MP40.

Livestock list so far is short, due to lack of decent LFS's in the area; six line wrasse, fire fish and a small derasa clam.

Corals; assorted zoanthids, pink birdsnest, orange / green birdsnest, Tyree green with blue polyp monti cap, orange monti, bird of paradise, purple pocillopora, assorted euphillia, caulastrea, green star polyps and a lone colt coral.

Here are a few more pictures of my setup.

Shot of skimmer right after it was added; great skimmer for the price, btw.

Shot of my little derasa I took the other night.

Thanks for the info! That is a really nice setup! Your skimmer looks like an octopus cone type skimmer mixed with an ASM/Euroreef skimmer! Looke like a pretty good design! :)

Welcome to reefing in YakaVegas. Are you heading to SeaMax in Seattle July 23 and 24 ?

Very Nice. It appears you have done your home work and you know how to what you want.
Welcome to RF, This is a very good bunch to share your hobby with.

Is there reefing in YakaVegas? I am starting to think it is an underground movement here... ;)

And yes, planning on attending SeaMax at least one of the days.

Nice job on the setup! Welcome to RF :)

I am looking forward to seeing how corals do under that lighting setup you have. This is a very similar way lighting is done in Asia. I follow a few builds there, but haven't seen it done with LED's yet.

Hello from your neighbor in Tri Cities

welcome to Reef Frontiers. If you think reefing from Yakima is hard, I used to try to reef from Ellensburg. Yakima was the exciting place to go. Anyways, I'm in the Tri Cities now, and our club Mid Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club (MCSAC.org) will be at Seamax. I'm hoping to be there Sunday. Hopefully I'll see you there.

Hey Brian, great looking reeftank you have and sorry I missed the intro post earlier. Have you had the LED's as your primary lighting for the entire 7 months ? Nice to see an ever increasing group of Tri-City-ites over there in the hobby. Hopefully will get to meet a few of you at Sea-Max later this month.

Cheers, Todd

Thanks for the welcome.

Yup, I have been running the PAR bulbs for the life of the tank with what I think is good success. I will try to remember to take some growth shots this weekend.

Here are the growth shots that I promised, a pink birds nest which was my first SPS. Pictures are about 4 months apart. Please excuse the poor iPhone pics, but that is the only pic I have of when it first went in the tank and I wanted the shots to be consistent.
