Well as im starting the break down and cleaning of tank i was noticing i have critters on the glass of my tank there white in color a little bigger then the head of a needle but there are tons and tons of them on my glass i tried to take a picture but you cant see them in the picture and ideas what they could be?

Pods so its a good thing? as in the tank was growing somthing at least?

Yep a good thing, it is a sign the tank is maturing. They are good little cleaners and fishfood

But where did they come from i havent added anything in ages and then thye just appeared so im confused.

Any live sand and or live rock is teeming with eggs, larvae, spores; basically plankton which is often juveniles of many critters.

As a tank matures, it is easier for these items to grow big enough in size and population to be seen. Pat yourself on the back, as your tank is heading in the right direction. Keep up on water changes too.

only 1 problem is i didnt use live sand it was just black sand that has been in my tank for we figure 2 years so maybe it came from the Live rock huh?
