My First Post....I found I love horses and Skiing but I really am addicted to my reef tank. I am having a blast trying to fill it. I find I am always asking for something new for each holiday or special occasion where a present is involved. What a great time it is researching and collecting and just watching everything grow. Next purchase are clownfish but has to be the perfect pair.

Welcome to reef frontiers.
You are in the right place to ask questions. Everyone here is super knowledgeable and super friendly, more than happy to help. Just ask!

Do us a favor and make a members showcase topic with your tank, what you have. Just a good summary on where your at with your tank

And do not forget pictures. We all love pictures.
Welcome again. :D Let us know how we can help.

Thank you so much! I am so excited I found this forum. I will work on pictures and showcase. I am technically challenged and this is my first forum. Everyone is super knowledgeable and very friendly that is a fact. I am looking forward to years of learning from folks like you!

No problem.
How long has your tank been setup and what size is it?
What equipment are you using?
Livestock fish/inverts.
Experiences you have had so far. That should get us started, until we can get pictures rolling. :)

I received my 167 as a present. My husband purchased from a wonderful lady in Olympia that was losing her house (it is so sad, she is an awesome lady). We purchased new sand, took it down and put it back together again same water and everything all in one day. It cycled for a little over 8 weeks and then started adding additional corals (beginner coral frags). This was after the battle with some Cyno and aptesia first. At this time there is not a lot of items. I am putting it together slowly. I have a cleanup crew, a lawnmower Blenny, Mandarin and a Watchman goby . I have different mushrooms, and frags....favia, zoa's, montipora's, frogspawn, chalice, pulsing xenia, elegance coral and birdsnest. The refugium is built into the back. I cannot get enough of this tank. I am afraid my other duties are now secondary. I will have to somehow balance this. My next purchase will be a pair of unique clownfish if I can find them. Thank you for asking it is so much fun to talk about.

Sounds like a awesome tank.
Awesome size too.
We all get what you mean about everything being secondary. That's good to take care of everything.
Makes it run smooth, that way you KNOW your tank if anything looks haywire.

Hi and welcome to RF. Wow, you like to really jump in with both feet! It should be fun filling up all that space. We will look forward to seeing your tank progress. Dawn
