My brother has been fighting these for a long time. What's the best way to get rid of them without tearing down the tank? If that's possible. If not will pulling the rock out and letting it dry out kill them or boiling the rocks? Thanks for any advice!

Kalk paste has been tried. There are too many of these to kill like that.

Joe's Juice? Does that also need to be injected or can you just dose the tank? I'll do some searching on that. Thanks.

Anymore advice will be greatly appreciated.

Kalk Paste put in a used test kit two part sringe, just like Willis's human said. They die horribly. Nobody likes a ph 12 bath, and gargle. Works like a charm. Just my humble opinion. Steve

Are there different types of aiptasia? Unfortunantly I've seen a lot of it and those little green guys dont look like any I've seen. I wonder if a Peppermint Shrimp would be interested in them?

In my opinion they look like a type of palythoa, or the false coral, also know as colonial anemones. If it is what I thinks it is. It is toxic to coral, and very toxic to people. I could be wrong, thats what it looks like to me. Steve

definately manajo's you can tell by the wide smooth disc and thickness of the tenticles as well as the color,,,aptasia are more clear, hence ap's common name -glass anemone.

I have been fighting these guys for a couple of years now. Definately mojanos. That makes them harder to kill. Pepermint shrimp don't touch them or my copperband butterfly. The only effective cure so far has been joe's juice. I have to dose em about once a month. It's impossible to get them all and they just come back again. It's just about time to go hunting again.

Thanks all for the help. Will have to try the Joe's Juice then. Anyone know if it is sold locally or is it only at the web stores?

The website says that Blue Sierra carries it, but I just ordered it from the site directly. They give you free shipping on your first order.
