soo, i just started a 10g nano and it is about a week old. i bought about 20 lbs of LR and like at least 30% of it is dead becuase of the poweroutage. i just tested today and i have good ph (8.4) but my ammonia is 1.75ppm and my nitrite is .5ppm. i have not tested nitrate yet. so i have a aquac remora and my question is about how long will it take for the ammonia and nitrite to zero out.

how long will it take for my tank to cycle without any added supplemtnts?

what kind of "things" can i add to my tank for the cycle to speed up??

THanks!!

All systems are diffrent some cycle fast some slow some dont cycle at all so its hard to say how long. Keep testing you will be there befor you know it. there are some products to speed the process of the cycle ask your lfs. good luck with the nano sounds great I would like to see pictures when its up and running.:)

Just keep testing the water parameters, and let the cycle run its course. You will start to see the ammonia drop and nitrites rise. Then you'll see nitrates starting to come up, while the nitrites drop. When you're ammonia and nitrites are zero, your tank is cycled. Some folks perform water changes during the cycle period to keep the ammonia from spiking so high, but IMO, just wait it out.
