yea so all of you might think im crazy in slowing down a power head but..im planing to buy a mj1200 for a powerhead in a 10g. this powerhead is about 300gph and maybe a lil to much for a 10g with about 15-20 lbs of LR...is there any way i can slow down the head to about 200 gph?

that is pretty much just way too much flow for a 10g...sorry...i don't even use a powerhead in my 10g..my filter dumps water in that thing!!!

krish: ohh gottcha
ronj: ohh so you think its to much huh? well i already have a mj1200 for a aquac..so you're pretty much saying i should get a slower powerhead or do i even need one?

There's also an attachment you can put on the head of the maxijet (which comes with it) to direct flow even more at an angle and if it is too much, you can always point it sort of upwards to give the tank some surface aggitation (which will disperse the flow some) as well as provide the tank with flow similar to how Brady has his maxijets here...:)

i think a maxijet 900 would still be a little much for a 10g..JMHO...it depends on the size of your filter..i have a biowheel 350 on my 10g..it puts out some gph and creates some good flow....if i had a smaller filter, i would probably add a maxijet 600..do you have sand in the tank??? this will be another factor...too much flow will cause a sandstorm
