help me pick a fish

Hi doods,
I was thinking about getting a little (herbivore) fish for my tank, it's not big enough for big fishes like tangs since it's only 37 gals., but if you got any idea on a type of fish that i could add to my tank i'd really apreciate it .

i got a 6 line , 1 ocellaris clownfish and a damsel

krish dood, a long time a go i bought a baby yellow tang (bubbles) and the fish only lasted me about a month and he looked to huge on the fish tank dood.

ya need another clown, so the one you have has a buddy!!! Ya could get a lawnmower/algea Blenny, or Coral Beauty/pygmy angelfish....those 2 are considered herbivorous.. The one's I have like meaty food also...

They are iffy...and a 55 is about as small as you want to go with a yellow tang....I'd say scratch that one from the list...

Good luck with your choices, I wish their was a Tang that stayed small and you could keep in a under 55 catagory I have just never seen it.

lm blennies do not eat filamentous algae, they only eat brown diatom algae, there is no "lawn mowing", and it's true, they do nip on clams and sps.

besides, i really feel you would have better results controlling your algae via snails, crabs, efficient skimming, and chemistry

LM Blennys are strange and cute fish though. I can't imagine a reef tank without one at this point.

hehe i already have that on my list , i'm just waiting for Elmo's clowns to get bigger.
i do like angels i just get scared that it might try to nip on my soft corals .
LM Blennys are cute just like that goby you show me Jeff (really cute)and well i don't have sps or clams.
skimmerwhisperer, I'm trying really hard to take care of the algae.

lol !! dood, i already went and got a bunch of snails and i have an emerald crab (only one just in case, i might add another one it depends on how this one behaves, don't want my fishes missing).
well if the fish likes flakes, then be it as long as the fish doesn't eat my corals, he can poop as much as he wants :lol:

If you had algae on your sand bed I could help you. I'd send you a baby conch and he'll clean that crap up in no time

hehe any Bahamian conch is always welcome .
i have a little bit of algae on my glass and the snails are taking care of it, i just wish my crab was like old Mr. Krabs that used to eat caulerpa, now instead i have the husband picking it.

you wanna know something funny ... he used to be a cheff :lol:, he even cooked for the Green Bay packer's one time.
No clue what happened dood i guess the computer messed up and deleted all the recipies in his brain .
