My lights went out on my fish tank and I don't have the money to replace them right now so I need somebody to take my coral and put them in their tank until I get everything fixed.

Will somebody help me out?

Brendon, if it takes a few days, your corals will be just fine, so don't panic. I've purposely left all of my lights off, for 5 days, on a predominately SPS/Clam tank, to battle Dinos. Everything was just fine. If you're a member of PSAS, I'd also suggest posting this in their forum. I'd imagine, with all the great members, in your area, you'll either find someone to babysit your corals for you, or loan you a lighting system. I have a ghetto 250MH reflector and old Hamilton ballast that I could loan you, if you're willing to pay UPS ground shipping, which should get it to you, overnight.

The lights have been out for about two weeks weeks. and I'm getting really worried. I can't afford shipping until next month.

Do you have any idea what happened to them?
What kind of lights are they?

Do you think it's a bulb or ballast problem?

Might be an overkill, but I have a halide setup I could loan you. Coulkd also loan you a florescent spotlight if halide is too much. I would also babysit your corals for you if needed.

If your lighting was Compact Fluorescent, and you had a power surge, some PC fixtures have a fluorescent "Starter" that may have blown. If that's the problem, they're very cheap, a buck or two, and easy to replace. Otherwise, it sounds like Mike's either got a light for you, or is willing to tend to your corals for you!
