Help with dursos

I just did a frsh water test with my new set-up. I have two one inch drains and a 3/4 in return lint that splits into two loc lines. The problem that I see is that the level of the water in the overflow goes up and down on a regular basis. When it goes down the water sound level greatly increases. How do I resolve this? Does it sound like my durso pipes are too tall?

I am using two Durso standpipes on my current tank for the first time, and I had the same problem initially. I just let it run for a while, and at some point (never noticed when) it quit doing that. Now it runs absolutely stable water height.

One thing I've seen people do with them is install an adjustable air valve in the top, maybe that allows better control.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, I've only got limited experience with them.

Don't know if I'm much help but does the top of the standpipe have a breather. I would think the tube would have to bring in air to drain right. Do you have any 90 elbows on the drains that could be restricting flow? Are the drains directed into the sump above or below water level? If it is below water level and there is no air coming in from the top it could be causing a air bubble.

The dursos are made with a stand pipe connected to a 90 degree elbow then another 90 degree elbow which points to the bottom of the sump. There is are some holes in the last elbow to breeak the siphon if necessary. There is a single hole on the top of the last elbow as well. It is quiet when the dursos are completely submerged.

sorry I was'nt of any help I usually like to use flex hose for my drains. I have used hard lines in the past but I have always used 45's instead of 90's just becouse I felt they would drain more freely.

I went over to Blue Sierra and I think Ithey straightened me out. The hole at the top of the second elbow needs to be above the water line.
