Thanks for clearing that all up. A few more questions, what is actinics? Also I put tap water in and added salt, will it be ok or should I change it and start over?

Also, with regards to RO/DI...

There are lots of misconception that this is a filter for reef tank....

Yes in a way.... but you do not use this to filter your tank....
You use this to filter the tap water for your use with your tank. Example, you need to mix fresh salt water, or replenish your evaporated water from your tank.

Some say it is ok to use tap water, but it is not recommendable.

I suggest that you buy a TDS meter for 30 bucks or so.... and check your water. The reading should not be higher than 15.

But I suggest that you just buy RO/DI water from local stores. or you can try here...

For your liverock also check with your local reef club and see if anyone is doing a group order? This will save you a lot of money as most group orders up to a certain amount will have free shipping. Sometimes you can split a box with someone too.
