Do you really need all that calcium? what is your calcium reading?

Suggestion, if you try the suction approach... this will work great if you have a sump.... you can then just add a sock at the other end of the hose then siphon those bubble algae... you will just recycle back the water but filtering all bubble inside the sock.

also if you have a small HOB filter... use it and put a lot of act. carbon so if you have any accidental burst you will be able to at least minimize spreading it out.

Believe be, I also have the same problem but not as many as yours.... what I did was add a yellow tang. Yes it will not touch it because the bubble is too big for him, but I tried to burst all (please dont these at home!!!) of them and the tang ate all of them.... I know, it is un-orthodox approach.... but i am a newbie at that time and i dont know any better.... But it worked....

Update on my Bubble Algae Issue

For those that are interested, I thought I would finally get around to providing an update on my issue when I submitted my plea for assistance. I started this thread back in March '04. Well after getting lots of advice, and a visit from Crows Ridge, I am pleased to say my bubble algae is pretty much gone! My last resort was to take all my rock out, so I thought I would try some other advise first. I did remove my bio balls from my sump as a first step. The next 2 items I purchased were 7 emerald crabs, and a red sailfin tang. It took awhile, but they did the job. I am back into the hobby big time, and can't thank the good people on here for the advise.
