My 2 clown triggers...no I didn't plan this...the smaller one disappeared for over 6 weeks - dug the tank apart looking for him - figured he died and got eaten or the eel got him...
So I was at Reef Mystique and I saw this sweet clown trigger for 50 bucks so I nabbed him.
Of course the second I put him in, my first clown trigger comes out of nowhere to greet his new friend.
i thought they would tear each other apart - maybe some day they will...for now they swim side by side all day long!

man, that is cool Donovan. To be able to keep one in a tank would be awesome, but two in the same tank....unreal!

Reedman how is that ushio halogen bulb working out for you? I originally had the ushios and it was too dim overall - so I switched them out for some GE halogens which were much brighter - but way too yellow...
So I added another set of PC actinics to wash out the yellow - it really brightened up the tank but it was still too yellow.
I switched back to the ushio whitestar halogens and now I love it with the additional power compacts- its not as bright as it was - but the shimmer is better and the tank has a much better deep water blue look to it.
those ushios have a 12 degree beam where most have a 32 degree beam...

on another side note - photobucket sucks - you used to be able to re-size to 75% of the existing photo - now they limit ya to 320 by 240 or something...any suggestions on posting bigger photos?

Also - yeah my camera sucks - its just a canon sd - my girlfriend just got a canon rebel xt- any suggestions on what lens to get to get some good fish pics? When I try to take pics of the fish they just come out a blur with my existing camera...

I'm loving the setup right now. I think I will go to the wider spread next time since my lights aren't nearly as far off the water as yours are, but for now they are great. I also like the ability to dim them....so cool to have low light and still have the shimmer. I'll have to try the bulbs you are talking about. I have 50/50 VHO going with the halogens so no real yellow problems for me. I'm still working on filling in the tank with artificial corals, but I'm making progress. I love not having to worry about all the issues you have with SPS though....quite a relief.

What's your photo-period on your tank? Do you get any algae issues on the sand? I'm fighting that right now, but that's the only problem I have run into.

Sometimes you just get lucky. I've had the same thing happen with a pair of anthias.. Usually they don't get along, but for some reason it just worked. Funny thing was my anthias came from reef mystique too.. must be something in the water :D :D :D

I love clown triggers; one of my favorite fish. Do they bother your corals at all? Do you have crabs or snails? I never dared to have one in my reef, but if I ever go fish-only I'm getting one of these for sure.

sweet clown triggers=) but keep a watchful eye out! i would predict some fighting. hopefully it doesnt get to one.. well hopefully they get along and have babies:)
