k as i told i'm from italy.. i had some tanks.. now reduced to 3 and will be only 1 in the new house.. i have fresh and salt water tanks.. now i still have 2 fresh (1 near to be closed after the last little fishes will be big enough to be sold) and 1 with an Astronotus i have since '98..



the other 2 are a 1 reef sys that i will upgrade from 400 net liters to the new one in the new house that should be nearly 1000-1100 net liter reef..



i will use the DSB sys for that new but now i'm managing this with the "berlinese" german method with live-rocks

hehe i'm trying to get your secrets

europe and USA uses 2 different approach to reefs.. so i'm trying to get the best of the 2 as i like stuff yuo can use due to low money for electricity and bring it in my new tank..
as i think you have something we miss..

i think you hope we.. but i can tell you we wont..
i asked for a biotopus and they asked me 2200 euro.. that's nearly 3k dollars..

asked for an 800 liter tank (200 gallons) and they asked me 8000 euro.. that's 12k$ .. and it was w/o KW reactor and without lamps...
so no.. trust me.. ELOS makes nice design stuff.. but i dont think i will buy them..

well donno.. probably.. if i think at Las Vegas i have to think you use more then us.. and also for things you really dont need like air-conditioners .. we went in arizona-utah and other US states and we neved need the air-cond in the car.. even in the death valley or in the arches park (65° celsius degrees..) we feel ok.. so we will use less kwh..

but for acquaria.. donno.. we have 0.2 euro /kwh.. 0.3$ .. and we need nealy 10.000 kWh to run a good 350 gallon tank.. that's 3k $..

this is why i want to have the best for my new tank.. as i wont waste money for kWh and have no results.. better invest a bit.. spend a bit more.. but have an uber tank ^^

:-( no.. they like to be called an over-the-top company.. so they wont help local customers.. they does the same price all over the europe and they use the same number for usa and euro..
but as 2k $ arent 2k € we pay nearly 40-50% more then you..

many things built in germany are cheaper in usa then here.. just get a suzuky (japan made.. so not USA nor EU) .. gsx-r 1000 ... 13200 euro.. that's 19700 dollars.. but you pay only 9900 for it..

so no.. you are lucky.. in my honey moon me and my wife spent one year money in usa :-D as it was nearly less then half than here and i hope i will come back sooner or later also if i dont think i can buy a skimmer and put in the bag

Wow a gsx-r 1000 for 20k. That is unheard of here unles it has a bunch of after market parts on it but 20k for it no way. You can get a Ducati for that price.

now i had another death due to over hot (in my city we often reach 42° celsius degrees and my water-cond failed again..)

in the new house i'm preparing a bigger chiller sys that will cool also the house and the tank with a dedicate output to preserve from future troubles...

i hope the new one will be bigger.. nicer.. and w/o troubles.. as my wife told me she will cut my head of the knee if i will make a tank that will make also a 0.0001% trouble in a year :-D so i decided to join some USA forums cause italian/european forums dont gives me enough to stay sure i wont loose my head

next time i'll try not to burn all so maybe it will look kool for a bit more then 1 year and will give a bit more satisfaction to me then just make.. rebuild.. rebuild.. etc ;-)

this is why i want a better sys not and asking in more forum then just one :-D
i need more info to make less mistakes :-D
