hole drilling 101

If I mistakenly drilled a 3/4" hole where I need a 1" hole, can I still drill it out larger with my 1" holesaw even though I wont be able to use the pilot drill bit as a guide if I go slow and don't let the bit wander? (intentional run on sentence). It could have been worse, I could have drilled the 1" where I needed a 3/4".:shock:

Clamp a piece of wood on the backside, and then use the wood to guide the pilot. Just make sure it is securely clamped, so it doesn't wander.

Good to hear! Sometimes knowing how to fix mistakes is the most important part of a project. At least if you make mistakes as often as I do ...
