Hot To Stop The Burping

Hey all, this past weekend I installed a new and bigger sump and my problem is I can't stop the burping from the overflow lines. I know its something to do with how deep the lines are submerge but not to sure of it. What is the best way to stop this??

Its not really burping if its pushing out the trapped air it actually would be concidered a fart.

What do you have for over flows? Durso stand pipes, u tubes ??

U-tubes with hofer gurgle busters on the drains.

I use to put a "Tee" on the bottom of the pipe that sits submerged in the sump (incoming water) which use to solve that issue for me. If you don't know what I mean, I can dig up a pic to show you.

Here's an old sump I had where you can see the "Tee". I had a "belching" issue with my 75gal sump and this solved the problem so I did the same thing on this sump for my 38gal cube and no problems. Your belching could be from another issue, but it's worth a try as the fitting doesn't cost anything and it doesn't need to be glued in to try

Also try moving the small air tube up and down in your HGB.

Krish it work but I had to modify it a lil, made it like a stand pipe for a skimmer, and all my burping or farting is gone.

No problem!! I knew with mine, it was like the water was trying to rise back up the straight open tube I had at first which I figured was causing the problem, so I said I'd try dispersing it to the sides and WALLA!

I used a tee as well but mine goes other way with the water flowing straight through and the tee part heading up above the water level.

Is there any way to get rid of all the bubbles that come in from the drain? They're pretty big . I tried a skimmer standpipe design yesterday and that didn't work...

lucky you..

on mine reduced the noise.. but not much as i hope..
i tryed nearly all in the last 4 years.. but i never reached a perfect silence..

the tank is in the bedroom and so i have tryed all..

and will try more
