When you see the written word on the computer screen, it can be a challenge to know how to pronounce it. I have heard people in the LFS pronounce things in a certain manner and I assumed it was correct. However, it often wasn't.

Here are some resources if you're curious.

Dictionary.com
Your Dictionary.com
Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman also has phonetic pronunciations.

This could be useful information if you need to know how to look up the pronunciation of Acropora, Polychaete, thermometer, etc.
:p

oh shoot i think i was one of those people that probably have said it that way. *laffing* i never even thought about it.

it wasn't till about 2 weeks ago that i finally heard how refugium and caulerpa (sp) pronounced correctly and i had those wrong as well.

must be the mississippi boy in me or something.

and Mon tip era...right curt?

Is that refract - ometer... a stab at me?

:D

Tax season is _______________ (fill in the blank). I just had to be obnoxious. However, I did find the info I provided useful. Just killin' two birds with one stone.

Whew! Good thing I edited out those nasty words you had typed in there, Curt. Come on...we don't use that type of language here. lol

Kidding - of course. :D

ROFL!!! It is tax season, Curt probably would appreciate it. J/K

hehe...the a-crop-era and mon-tip-era were new ones to me.

How do you pronounce aiptasia?

Well, don't kill me. Just "nearly" kill me and have me come out of my coma on April 16th.

I pronounce aiptasia, "rock or glass anemone".

LOL! Well, unless you're a Copperband, Peppermint Shrimp or Berghia, then I guess you like them.
