How do you rate your overall flow in your tank? With your flow rate, what types of inhabitants do you keep (i.e. mainly SPS, LPS, Softies, mix of...)? Do you also use a motion device (sea swirl, SCWD, etc)? Do you know what your overall flow rate is?

I said medium!

I have a 900gph @ 0 head for the return. I have a Maxi Jet with a rating of about 165 gph, I don't consider that in my total circulation. I have another 900gph, blowing directly behind all of my rocks, straight off the pump. I have a Tunze stream rated @ 1,800gph. Skimmer pump rated @ 700gph, I don't consider that either. My tank is 5ft long, I could use another Tunze easily. The Tunze is electronically controlled, it pulses from Max out-put to a set range on my choice. Right now I have a few softies & LPS but Plans for something totally different one day hopefully soon.

Including the return pump Ive got about 4800 gph @ 0 head and 2400 gph at 4' head..

I've only got about 300-400gph through a spray bar in my 29g. The way it is setup though it will keep food and detritus in suspension for about 15-20 minutes before it gets sucked down into the sump. My skimmer's pump puts out more flow than my return pump. :)

I'm also only keeping low flow/low light animals now like mushrooms, etc.

How about med to high??? I can't find that button.

Actually I was gonna say high until I read Scooterman's post. How many gallons is that tank?

I have approx 900 from my return, 900 on a closed loop, and another 500ish from my chiller closed loop and canister filter (ROWAphos) for approximately 2300 gph on a 90 gal, or 25 times. Keeping primarily sps. Seem like enough?

On my 75 gallon, I have an Ampmaster 3000 flowing through a 1.5" spraybar and 3/4" sea swirld. I have an Iwaki MD40RLT flowing through the other 3/4" sea swirl. Overall have about 35 to 40x turnover rate in total flow. So I guess that is a High???

I'll say high. I usually have an AM3K on a closed loop in my 75 gallon tank and will have about 300-600 gph through a spray bar soon.

65 gal tank, mixed reef.
MAG 12 via 2 returns, 3 300gal/hr power heads strategically placed, 2 are on a wave maker, Maxi-jet 1200 running my HOB Remora skimmer = around 1800 gal/hr (acounting for head loss and bends)

Turbelle Stream,
I have one, 1,800 gph and I have a 900gph pump direct, the pump puts out a hard flow very directional until it hits the rocks. The stream isn't a pump or ph in that sense. It can be set to fluctuate from Max to anywhere down to 50% power. The one I have only uses 17 watts of power, try and find that in any pump. It will not blow nearly as hard as a pump, or way more than any PH made but It will produce the widest Stream I've yet seen, it uses a Prop instead of an Impeller which makes a big difference, also the coil is separated from the unit housing, so all the heat never touches the tank. It also has a feed timer & you can get the photocell that works with your lights, which means at night it will reduce speed to a softer slow pattern. Down falls, it is an object hanging in your tank, although I don't have the now available fake rock to set it in, another down fall is if you need to remove the prop unit for cleaning, you have to almost unplug all of the connections to get it out, why did they make connections for everything but the unit and the controller who knows, other than that, I want another :LOL

On my 46gal with mostly mushrooms, Zoo's, 1 acro and a couple softies I have a 300gph ph, 500 gph return and will add my other 300 gph ph as soon as my new tanks LR finishes curring.

In the current state exdcluding mechanical filtration (carbon and protein skimmer) that comes to about 20X turnover.

The new 280 gal will have AM3000 on a closed loop and probably another for the return which = about 20 as well. I may beef it up a bit...

I would say these are medium... I guess..

I'm medium to medium high - I have a 55 gallon display w/ 6 mj1200's alternating off and on routines, I also have a iwaki return that pushed about 750 gph through it too. My SPS seem to dig it. I'd go closed loop if I had to do it again though for sure.

I would say "medium" (to Medium high)
but I don't really know what to compare it to.

+18x turnover

38gal tank
I've got a 700gph return pump (to a "Y" and out 2 return nozzles drilled in oppisite upper corners of my tank)

Edit:
just a couple fishies,
and a bunch of "Softies" (Kenya tree's, Leathers, mushrooms, ect....)

Vortech Rules

I have 2 vortech Mp 40 in my 65 G tank, so i say high flow rate.I was plagued with low flow rate in my last tank so in this one i was going to have the option to have what ever flow i wanted .

I'd still say I'm "Medium Flow"

75gal tank
1050 gph return pump
two powerheads 1050 and 850 gph powerheads (one on each end)
also have a hob refugium with a 100(ish) gph pump

depending on the formula,
I've got just under 3000gph of flow (not counting head loss)
in a 75gal tank (just under 40x turnover)
