how does green chromis breed????

Hi, I have 3 green chromis in my 190 gallon tank, I bought four but one of them died 4 months ago , however it seems like if 2 of them where a mated pair and they found a small cave in the buttom and they hide in there and it seems like if they were fighting with the other fish get close to the entrance:?:
what do you think it can be??????
could they be breeding?????

Very well may be. This behavior is very similar to clownfish mating behavior and since they're related behavior can be expected to be similar.

They may be spawning. I had a school of blue damsels spawn in a 75. Damsels being more agreesive didn't help the situation in the tank when spawning occurred. Maybe you have one female to several males. This could be problematic.

I would think damsels and chromis mating behaviors would be similar. Sounds like you have a breeding pair.
