i have two amp master 3000's on closed loops my tank is like 220 gallons with 50 gallon sump and 29 fuge. if i unplug my closed loops my tank will drop to 76 degrees bfore the heaters kick on. when i plug the pumps back on the water temp will get up to about 80 before my chiller kicks on as a result my tank stays a constant 79-80 degrees so that means those pumps heat my tank about 4-5 degrees. does that seem like alot. my chiller will kick on in the dead of winter because of these pumps so im wondering what others have experienced

I know of a few brands that will super heat the water..
Someone with direct experience with these pumps should chime in soon??

its just seems crazy, my heaters never come on and the fact that my chiller comes on when it is freezing also the pumps are very hot to touch

Are your pumps under the stand or in a separate fish room? The temp rise makes sense if under your stand, if they are in a separate fish room then I would be surprised they would cause that much heat. If you do have them under the stand I am sure you can cut down the heat impact by using fans on your stand to ventilate if you dont already. It would have the benefit of heating your house in the winter, not so great in the summer.

it is an in wall so everything is in a small room. i have a fan that runs 24/7 and am working on a better ventilation system but i am really suprsed at how hot they get

i have temp controllers, the temp only varies a degree or two my point is that these pumps are so hot they heat all that water 4- 5 degrees and as a result my chiller comes on when it is cold outside wich seems like an absolute waste of energy

i am running a posidon pump t-4 and its hot to the touch. this is normal for this pump. my chiller runs year round. winter time once every hour for a minute or two then suimmer time about once every half hr for minute or two. it will raise my temp 5-8 degrees with no chiller.

My Iwaki is hot to the touch, cant keep my hand on it more than 30 seconds. Does your fish room have access to your crawl space? I ask as I use my crawl space air to cool my fish room and exhaust out the outside wall via a bathroom fan. I run a 180 with 1000W lighting and am able to keep it 79-80 year round without a chiller. I have two four inch holes into the crawl space with fans on controllers to drive air in. Most peoples crawl space air is cooler than ambient air year round, might save you some cooling $ if it can work for you.

i like this idea i can do all that i just dread going under the house. the room is about the size of a walk in closet i also have 1000 watts of light. alot of heat for a 5x10 room

You have my room beat for space which is a 5'X7'. Good luck with the heat, I am no fan of hanging out under the house either, although I have to go back under myself to finish another project.
