How long before I can replace my clam

Hello All,

My 4" Maxima spawned for the second time a few days ago and is still looking good but now my 1 1/2" Maxima is dieing I think it tried to spawn as well.

Are there any residual hormones or chemical cues that would induce spawning in a new clam and if so how long before introducing a new clam would be safe?

Eric,

Spawning is normally triggered by some sort of stress and then it can be a chain reaction after that.
