How long do you QT for?

Well it's now 10 weeks(today) my yellow belly Hippo tang has been in qt,
+ 10 days when spots were seen and specific gravity was lowered for hypo.
I guess Im getting anxious to get her in the DT already and Im wondering how long do you QT for? Ive already read and read but what do you do.

I should have worded that differently... When I first bought the fish it was in QT for 3 days when the spots appeared, 1 day to lower gravity then 6 days until the last spot was seen and we are at ten weeks today with no spots... not includeing those 10 days. The tang showed the spots in QT...

With 10 weeks in hypo since the last spots you can go ahead and and start slowly raising the salinity. I believe 6 - 8 weeks after the last spot is what is recommended. You have to raise the salinity much slower than when you lowered it. I usually take a little over a week to raise it, targeting a raise of about .02 a day.

Once the salinity is back up to match your display it is reccomended that you observe the fish in QT at least another 4 weeks to insure you have no other problems before moving the fish into the display. Any treatments you do (hypo etc.) can mask symptoms that may appear after the treatment is ended, that is the purpose of the additional 4 weeks of observation.

6 weeks after no spots after the inital 10 days of QT, I raised the salinity level to match the display and its been there for 4 weeks spot free (10 weeks total spot free), so today would be a good moving day yes?

A recommendation is to do a water change in your QT with water from the display. And another tomorrow. Then time to move.

I just got done QT'ing a cherub pygmy angel, I actually added him to my DT today. I had him in QT since the day I got him, and then maybe a week after I diagnosed him with Marine Velvet. I did a series of FW dips until the Cupramine arrived. Then I treated him with that. After the Cupramine process (appx 1 month) I waited another 6 weeks and finally added him to my DT today.
