You really can't answer that. All fish need different amounts of space.

What type of fish do you have in mind?

I agree...Also, some fish will produce alot more waste than other fish (like predatory fish) so if you want to keep a pretty clean tank, then you'll have to take that into account as well... :)

Put as many fish as you want. Just stop when they die. n-1 is your limit.

 Not something you should say in a forum dedicated to people new to the hobby. They may take you seriously and what they'll end up with is all sorts of problems down the road. Definately not the greatest advice if infact you are serious...If so, time to dig in and learn a bit more about the hobby. JMHO

Hi FireFishred, welcome to RF first! Adding fish to a reef tank has a list of things/requirements to succeed, unlike what chend2 was getting at, If you stock heavily or without research you will have problems or losses. Fish can grow or out grow a tank rather fast, coming up with a desired list will help. Also a description of your set-up, equipments, experience level, we can help you better understand what is required & may have suggestions as to what will work best, to give you the best chance of success. HTH's!

The botom line here is that all the knowlege and experience in the world cannot truely answer this question. I could tell you three fish based on tank size and be completely wrong. Rules of thumb are BS, there are some 75's that cant handle one fish while others can easily handle the bioload of 10.
Learning a little about reef chemistry and how to handle your biload is the only way your going to get a 100% accurate answer.
