Oh yeah I love my kreg pocket screw jig as well. It freaking rocks.

Notching out the 4x4's like that made the whole stand go together easier. I was able to use 1/4" Birch sheeting for the sides since nothing extended past the 4x4's and everything was flat and distributed the load evenly to the main posts. I'm sure I'll do every stand I build in the future the same way. And yeah, I posted the pics on here a few weeks ago.

Alright you guys have got my interest; what is a "kreg pocket screw jig?" I must have one and where can I get it?

It is just a jig to use two attach to pieces of wood together. Makes a very nice, strong, and unubtrusive joint. Here is a link to their site:

I got mine at lowes too. on the site and another wood working site you get it some screws, and a cd rom on projects too.

Kregtools have been a staple in the cabinet und. for years. You can check them out, & lots of other "must have" tools at www.rockler.com. Plus the prices are great
