How much DTs to feed?

I bought DTs a couple of weeks ago and have been adding the recommended starting amount. How do I know if I need to increase the dose? I only have one clam and a couple soft corals is a 55 gal display/ 95 gal total system. How much you feed and do you get better results feeding more?

fishman, what size is the clam? Also, do you have fish in the tank? By feeding phytoplankton, you may see an increase in filter feeders like sponges and feather dusters. I am not a phytoplankton user - in my mind I am introducing an input that, for my tank, I don't need. Small clams that don't have a larger mantle surface area do require phyto feeding. Some suggest to remove the clam to a small container in order to feed.

My clam is about 3" long. I've heard of removing clams as well but I worry about stressing the clam by moving him so much. The clam seems very healthy. Right now I only have 2 Chromis. I'm waiting for 2 new Clowns and after they get adjusted I will add a six line wrasse.

I have seen Darrell feed his clam dts by the bowl method and it is amazing how quick they suck it up. BUT if they are already connected to the rocks by their bysis threads this option is out. As an alternative you could feed them like you would a flaming scallop. Rig a drip device (or IV bag) and anchor the drip tube to empty directly into the feeding path of the clam. Then the 'food' goes to the one you need to feed first and then dispurses.

What type of clam is this? Some mature faster than others and yours may be big enough to keep itself alive. What lights do you have this clam under?

It is a T. Crocea. I have it under 2 175W 10,000 K MHs and 2 95W VHO acnictics. I don't mind adding the DTs. Its good for my reugium and filter feeders. I just don't want to over due it.
