anything will work. pc's, vho, mh. I would do a 150 halide 20k. temp will be your problem with that little water. Either a sump or microchiller. 20h will be much better.

I kept sps in a 10 gallon with a emperor 280 and prizam skimmer with surface extractor and a corallife 96 watt 50/50 quad bulb and fixture 20" long. Did great till I got tired of doing a one gallon water change everyday and adding about 1/2 gallon of rodi everyday. I kept it open top and with a rotating fan sitting on the desk on the same timed power strip as the light. With the 280 and the prizam I had to put two thin magazines behind the tank for each one to get them to hang on the tank right. I couldnt see them because of the background. I also was able to keep anemone (bulbtip) but it got too big very fast. Merlina, monti and bali green slimer corals were kept and green star poylops but they were a bad idea, grew to fast. I also broke stupid and added calupera racemosa and spent time every few days pulling it out and adjusting the skimmer for the mung the calupera released when pinched. Hope the stuff I did wrong you can learn from and the stuff I did right will help you. Steve

250 mh is way overkill for a ten gallon tank often times people seem to forget that mh is good for deeper tanks ovr 24" deep not less than 12"

i agree with brad, a 150w mh would be great. I use a 250w 10k ushio on a 20g high with 2 15w uri actinic no bulbs for about six months and everything loves it so far. I know it's overkill but tell that to the clams.:D
