I have a 75 gallon tank plan on keeping soft corrals. lighting is a current usa sun pod 2-150 watt 14000k hqi halides. how far will this lighting get me..

You'll be able to keep any soft coral, most, if not all LPS and even some SPS. Most SPS will need to be kept in the upper portions of the tank. 150 watts just won't penetrate deep enough to allow the higher light demanding corals deep in the tank.

Should be plenty for soft corals. What are the tank dimensions? If you ever go SPS, you will probably need to go to 250's.
