How to remove

Do you mean like one of those cemet fragging discs? I think some people pry the colony up, or cut the coral on either side they are trying to remove. I tried to find some pictures for you. Here is a link to another forum, and Cougra did a good job here. It might help out with some visuals: Fragging Zoanthids.

Some of the other zoanthid gurus we have on RF might have some better visuals or descriptions for you, but I thought this would be a good start. Just remember to wear gloves, and if you can wear some type of safety glasses. It seems corny, but you really don't want that stuff getting into your eyes or mouth. I know someone on another forum was fragging zoanthids and had some liquid squirt into his eye and he wound up in the hospital.

You do not want to cut into the zoanthid. Big chance it will die.
This one reason I really don't like the frag plugs. They are ugly and don't fit well into your tank.
One thing you can do it wait untill the zoanthids grow over the disk, then you won't see them.
It's easy to remove zoanthids from live rock, because it crumbles so easy, but the disks seem to be a little harder.
Are you trying to remove just a few polyps?

Nikki's, right about the gloves and glasses.

The last one I just took a big pliers & crushed the disk, it was easy, left a little tad bit which was fine for me.
