An upgrade from what?

One thing I see with that aquarium is that it's tall. This isnt necessarily a bad thing, but it does alter some things.

Since the tank is taller, you're going to need more light to penetrate to the bottom of the tank if this is going to be for a photosynthetic reef.
Since the tank is taller vs wider, there is less room for fish to swim in, which means that you're going to be staying with smaller fish.
Since the tank is taller vs wider, there is less room for rockwork which means you're going to have less room for aquascaping.

None of these are deal breaker situations for many people, you just need to plan accordingly when you set up the tank.

Personally, I'd prefer a 40 breeder or a 58 gallon with a foot print of 36Lx18W....but that is just me.

I personaly like column tanks for aquascaping. If done right, the tank looks like its taller than it actually is, but ive only seen pictures of them done. Never in person.

I like the tall tanks. you can do some neat aquascaping. Little more challenging but neat.
you want to consider other equipment too. Are you running a sump? Does the stand have space for one?
Thats actually a pretty nice size tank. If you like it, thats what matters. Have fun with it.
The cost isnt bad. Have you tried to find one the same size or similar on craigs list?

I love a taller tank as well. My 26g is 21" so I'm use to them.
I do plan on drilling this tank but am leaning more towards a 20g refugium more so then a sump. Maybe just a small area for the heater, ato and return pump. It's all still in the creative mind stage

Oh he!! no-lol. Ill be using a combination of 4x24w T5HO and dimmable LED which ill be posting more about later. Im very excited about the LED as they are custom made

Dang with all the craziness of late I forgot to update this thread.
There will be no upgrade for me. The funds are need elsewhere, much more important. My family Maybe next year right!?
