Well, finally another one of the bigger projects got done: the pool!! This thing had been somewhat of a headache since the pool companies move here at the speed of molases in winter. Finally, they got things done last weekend, water went in sunday, and today the chemicals and al that junk got stabilized. Officially, we could get in and swim, but the heater is not plugged in yet. It so happens that in FL most houses do not have a gas line. We went with a gas heater instead fo the traditionally inefficient electrical heater. This thing is gigantic and could heat the pool in minutes and make the jacuzzi boil in just a few minutes too. So, we had to contract a gas company to come in and dig a hole, drop in a 500g gas tank, and run lines. They are coming in monday to do that. I am going to have them put a line to the B-B-Q also. There will also be a line to the side of the hosue where the propane generator will sit to power the entire house. That won't get done until summer, so the line will be there waiting patiently The truth is that the generator is for the tank mostly, but I had to feed the line about the hurricanes, etc tot he wife to get it passed/approved.

But In Florida it never gets below 80, why you need a heater lol, ok just pickin, looks very nice. How is your tank doing these days, did it make it through all the storms?

Actually, it was 65F last night. Today it is back to 78F already. I've learned a lot aboutpools inthe last few weks. It turns out you and I are OK in a pool at 78F, but little children will shiver to no end. 80F seems to be the magic number for temperature and it requires a heater in the winter even here in FL.

As far as my tank goes, I was fortunate int hat I did not have anything going then. I am in the process of setting up my mosnter SPS tank. You can see it in this link:

You must live in the northern part, but yea I was joking, it does cool off a little down south.

Actually, I live in S. FL, right outside of West Palm Beach and about 1 hour north of Miami :eek2:

    I love you man. As soon as that heater goes "on", we'll have a pool party. I'll be the first to jump from the window in my second story. I just hope I land inside the pool and not on the concrete. I am telling you, the moment that thing is on, it is going to look like a rap video back here. Nothing but big booty girls in little bikinis and a guy with a 40oz in a paper back and a pitbull in the other hand.

Diggin on the pool. Wish I had one like it. I hope you enjoy the hell out of it. Thanks for the pics. You know... you could always convert it to saltwater... Swim with the fish and close of a area to grow out frags, I mean 80 degrees, pure sunlight, Why not? LOL Steve

I am always happy to learn something new. Could you provide me with all the links of this "showing off" you are refering to?

By the way, I feel very honored you had to register today and the only 2 posts you have to your name are to the only 2 threads I have ever started in this site. Thanks :D

You don't know the first of it. I spent 11 years in the tundra up north called Illinois, a year in ghetto Neward, NJ, and 3.5 years in the missery of MD's weather looking forward to moving here the entire time. I guess if this is not patience, I don't know what is.

Nice! In the picture that shows the golf course in the background it looks like the houses have sunrooms on them. Is that what they are? It seems like they would be golfball magnets (at least if I was golfing :D ).

Regards,
Kevin

I think the golf balls is one of the reasons people put those enclosures up. You can't see it well from the pictures, but about 10 feet from the back fence, ther eis a huge pond that separate us from the golf course. Plus, the course actually goes parallel longwise to the houses on this side, so you would ahve to hit the ball literally in a 90 degree angle from where it is supposed to go and go about 500+ yards to hit even our fence. Impossible? nope. When we moved in we found some golf balls in the back yard.

Hey you have never seen me take a hockey swing have ya. Good thing is hat I always aim at a 90 to line up the shot, lol
