Maybe someone can help me out with a bit of advice.

I have a 30 gal and have 2 of the nano koralia pumps in there. I also have a hob filter marineland 350, i think. Tank looks pretty good considering no skimmer and no sump, but there is not much flow. I was thinking about maybe upgrading to a k1. Do you think this would be too much in this little tank? I do have xenia all over and it def waves around all the time, but i also have lps on the bottom and not much current gets to them.

Also the same in my 50gal. I have 2 k2s on each end, but still have some dead spots. Would a 1 k3 and 1 k2 be to much for this one?

Im trying to decide if I want to spend the money on these things,

Thanks

I have a 34 gallon solana and am running a Koralia 2 at the surface, a Koralia 3 into the back of the rock work (which difuses the flow even more), a Maxijet 1200 at the surface with a rotator on it, plus the return pump. The Koralia 2's and 3's don't put out a very powerful jet, so it won't knock anything around, but you do get a lot of water movement out of them.

I don't think K2's would be too much, even two K3's would probably be fine but I like lots of water movement! JMO! You'd just have to get them pointing where they don't damage anything!

Ok, I might buy 2 k3's for my 50gal, and put the k2's in my 30 gal?

I want lots of water movement, but I dont want a typhoon in there, hopefully this will be ok.

I would definitely do 2 k2's for the 30 gallon. Also what corals are you keeping? if you are planning on getting into SPS then you want to have good water movement. I would maybe do 1 k4 and 1 k3 for your 50 but i like alot of flow myself.

I have already gotten into sps in my 50,lol, but have been running 2 k2's and my return pump, I forget what kind. They are all happy, but I am getting dead spots in the corners, which I didnt notice when I had all my hermits, but now that they are gone I can tell.

I think k4's are bigger than k3's, so I might do 2 k3's and both the nanos in my 50. Or get 3 k'2s

My 50 is only 12" deep and 24" high by 36" wide. Not your typical, and i guess its 45 not 50.lol

Damn just when I thought I was all done buying equipment.

Well off to find some k3's now. Anyone you know selling some let me know.

I have 2 k3 in a 45g at each end and still have dead spots in the back. I didn't have anymore koralia, ended up adding 2 small pumps near the back wall. Since this tank is bare bottom, adding the extra pump really help keeping the bottom clean.

Cool, your tank looks nice. My sump pumps back up the middle and blows down the back side to the bottom and keeps it pretty clear. My dead spots are in the front corners.

After I get 2 k3's I will also have 2 xtra nanos I could place wherever I need a little xtra.
