i figured out my stocking list now 55g

k i have the 250-260 watt fixture with floruscent and actinics

i am going to have....

hermit crabs
few different snail species
serpant star
hawaiian feather dusters
orange sponge (put it in dark shadows)
bubble tip anenome (put it close to light i have just the right amount of light i hear?)
cleaner shrimp
peppermint shrimp
fire shrimp
emerald crab
sally lightfoot crab
finger sponge
soft corals like mushroom /leathers (i hear they are good beginners and i have sufficient lighting)

this is a well thought-out and reseached list. i want one of everything listed

am i right in assuming these animals SHOULD BE compatible (although things go wrong i know)

and do i have the proper lighting for all?



and i have no clue what fish i want now. i thought i wanted clowns, maybe just one i guess but i dont know what fish to get at all.

sorry if i am getting annoying with all these questions but search functions dont answer my specific questions which means i don't get my assurance



so yea bla bla just tell me if im on the right track in terms of compatability and proper care.

o yea and if the bta is good for me its photsynthetic i read but how often should i supplement with food???

and the feather duster when should i feed it or will it get enough plankton from the water

recomend some good hardy beginner low light craving corals and reef safe/invert safe fish please

Most tanks will not suppot sponges. Definately not for beginners.

i would love to have jsut 2 fish. a yellow tang and a flame angel.

i know the flame would do well but the tang is said to be too active for the tank.

regardless, i really want it though but i have a feeling it would fight with the angel


if they were the only 2 fish could that work for life?

The tang police are going to be pretty upset. If you decide to get a tang get very small ones. One you get rock in a 55 doesnt leave much room for swimming.

the flame is okay, but otherwise if you wanted something yellow get a yellow wrasse. they are just as bright, but dont need as much swimming room.

I mean I'm all about giving an animal the proper care it needs so I can enjoy it much better because I know its happy but when you tell me a school of 10 neons needs a 500g tank I just sit back and laugh.:lol:

yea im going to buy a power head and angle it behind. i need to get a few more medium sized rocks and want to get a bunch of little ones to scatter around as well
