Literally, I can't find the damn thing. I've looked all around the tank, overflow, carpet, ect, with no luck. My 4"+ Coral Beauty was there when I went to bed and not I haven't seen it all day. Are these things prone to hiding for a day or something? I've had it for a month and nothing picks on her as she is the largest fish, eats like a pig, and everything else is doing just fine. No spike in ammonia or anything, any ideas?

edited my Krish75..."Literally, I can't seem to find the silly little thing"(LOL).

Sorry to hear about that Blazer88, but hopefully he's just chilling with his girlfriend for a while and wanted a little privacy(LOL) I don't know where else to tell you to look, but hopefully he'll turn up alive pretty soon for you. Good luck!

Nope, no Carpet. I do have an RBTA though, but it's only 6" across. I don't think that would be large enough to eat a 4" Angel. I guess I'll have to start pulling rock out tomorrow morning and see if I can find something. It really sucks as my wife and I really liked her, not to mention she was reef safe. I guess on a good note is that she was only $20 from The Shark Reef so replacing her won't be too bad. I just don't like the idea of a dead fish in my tank overnight (if that was her fate). Wish me luck.

if it is hiding you might want to wait before you start moving rocks.you might accidentally crush him.

I just found a fish dried up under our entertainment center after being lost a year. I had at times loose fish & never recovered anything, strange things can happen.

I do have two emerald crabs, but I"ve never heard of them eating a fish before. I'll put some food in there and she if she comes out. If that doesn't work, I'll just remove some of the top rocks and peek around to see if I can find her.

Well i searched all the boards to try to find someone to tell me my emerald crabs ate my fish and no one was buying it, i went to my LFS and she told me it was highly possible, i know the old myth that LFS are stupid, but mine is very intelligent, so i went to WetWeb and typed in Emerald Crab, sure enough many people blame E.Crabs for deaths and many more have seen the crabs attacking fish, and the genius Robert Fenner agrees that all crabs are "oppurtunistic ominvores" and will eat a fish or coral if hungry, so yes a e.crab is a highly likely suspect, especially in my case since it was slow moving clowns, even if it wasnt the crabs its always fun to witch-hunt right???

Are you sure you have two emerald crabs? One thing to remember, sometime the unheard of is actually the case, I doubt it would eat your fish but hey circumstances happen.
Oh BTW, welcome back, I thought you closed the night shift for a while! :d

When the lights came on this morning, sure enough, she was swimming around like normal  I have no idea where she went for a whole day but at least she is still there and looks perfectly normal. I guess I can release my two emerald crabs from being tied up...they weren't talking anyways

thatis awesome news. i discovered yesterday my clown tang dissapeared. i moved rock and everything and can't find her. i think she is gone:(

Hopefully you'll have the same luck that I did. Aren't Clown Tangs big fish? Hope it turns out welll.

I have 3 emerald crabs, and im pretty sure that emerald crabs will eat small clowns, and Bob Fenner backs me up! Im going to start the anit-Emerald Crab movement. And your right about cricumstances happen, mine was the algae was all ate up and they didnt want to mess with a big old tang that whips them with her tail, lol. So they snuck up on my clowns and jump them one by one. And i did close the night shift, passed the crown onto whoever would like it, after B left i just didnt know how i could go one with the vampire reputation but then Ken came and helped out, now he left so i just gave up :(

PS Emerald Crabs are bad, but glad you found your fish Blaza, funny how it appear once the crabs where questioned

Glad to hear that she appeared!!! It just shows that fish from The Shark Reef are TOUGH!!! ;)

Blazer did you notice any funny lights in the sky or anything. Maybe those stinking little green people from mars are takeing up a new pastime? :D :D

my fish got into my overflow, rather scared when i got him out, he lived till i stressed him out when i was working in the tank, i don't have the best luck with fish though, my corals do fine, just not my fish, longest standing is my yellow tang at like a month or a month and a half
