Just to be a smart alec. Try to aquascape a FW ciclid tank every six months for near 20 years first. You'll get the hang of it.
Seriously, the bigger your rocks the better. Imagine a river bed or the bottom of the ocean. The more unusual the better. Think of the aquascaping as temporary. After a while your corals will grow big and you wont notice the rock work anyway.
