I was originally thinking of going with a closed loop but decided that I would rather keep allot of water flowing threw existing plumbing rather than have a PVC nightmare behind the tank
The tank is a 135g aga tempered so no drilling
I have a overflow rated at 1600GPH and was thinking about getting a mag 12 pump and adding a second bulkhead that was smaller so that I could run ~ 80% of the overflow threw the skimmer and ~20% threw the fuge so I can use the return for ~1/2 of the tank circulation while not blasting my fuge
At 4' head hight I would still be running 1000+GPH threw the sump.
The question is. Is there anything I'm not thinking about?
Foreseeable problems with the design?
and any pro's/con's for not doing this and running a closed loop?
Anyone seen something like this in action?
Thank you,
Casey
