I bough a unit off of Ebay. Junked the small DI. Called Spectrspure and ordered their Maxcap2 for $100.

I have a unit that is 7 stage for a little over $200
TDS..

137 in and 0 out and can push me out 35 gallons over night.
Running for 10 months now.
I guess what I am trying to say is that you don't need to spends hundreds (300-400) for clean water and you also don't need to know how to build the space shuttle.

I am learning a lot. Thank you all. I wish....No i want to learn what to get!

As I said If you call them, they can look up your local source water & get the yearly reports of what is in it, it is a law that the information is provided. From that they will tell you what Is needed to get the most out of your system & best quality, without having to go overboard.

The problem with the reports is they dont take into acount areas like mine. Tacoma has issues evertime they flush or the Howard Hansen falls. This year was pretty bad. Fill the bath tub and it looks like pee against the white background. This two month long issue with the Howard Hansen damn burned up alot of exra di resin.
When they flush the lines I can count on the fact that I have to buy a extra set of sediment filters.
I dont know if this sort of thing is common across the nation or if its just us in the PNW.

It is just you:D

Actually we have dips in some of the water quality at times, this is a base line, also I know they don't have cloramides (sp?) in my water. Although this could one day change.

Scooty I did it! I bought the Ocean Wave RO/DI unit. I only need about 10 gal. a week for now as I am using scripp's salt water.
Will still have to carry that!
