Anyone ever hear of this stuff? Stupid me went out and bought 2 tangs and had a third givin to me. I had no quarantine tank, that's another stupid me! so I put them into the display, you'd think after 4 years of fish keeping I'd know better. Well, the Sailfin tang and the hippo tang started getting little white spots on them. The wife is a lil upset and we don't wan't to lose any fish:doubt:.

Fresh water dip

This will probably start an all out ''war'' i mean debate, but the first thing to doo is to freshwater dip them under close supervision, and if caught soon enough prob will be solved.Half hour tops,in water that is of same or warmer temp, and adding a small[very small]amount of tank water will help to equal ph.The fish will first lie on the bottom, and with-in 5 min. will be up and swimming.Watch closely for any signs of destress[trying to jump out, swimming in circles,or gasping for air]and also look for signs of ''ick'' that have fallen off. After 20 to 30 minutes pour water out of treatment container and gently slide fish back into water. This may have to be repeated with in a couple days.

Fw dips may help release some of the trophonts that are in the gills....the dip won't do anything for the ones that are already buried in the skin ....you will also have to worry about the parasites still present in the tank....hypo salinity treatments are the safest bet
