what would you use to treat Marine Ich in a reef tank? what do you think of ( coral vital "the reef life energizer" ). before you say it a QT is not an options

To bad it needs to be said..........QUARENTINE!!!!!!!!!
If you are not prepared to take care of the animals you purchase find another hobby.

It is obvious by your statement you truly know the correct thing to do.
Sorry if I seem curt but I'm tired of seeing this same post over and over on every board. Simply put:
There is no short cut for what you are trying to accomplish. The product mentioned will be of no use. Some people will claim success with some of them. However, it will be based solely on luck and good husbandry. Sometimes the parasites will run their course in the reef and the fish will win, sometimes not!
Quarantine your live stock or keep your water conditions "pristine" and hope for the best. I wish you luck and would be happy to loan you any quarantine equipment I have available if that is the issue.

Dan, I have extra tanks too. And a good remedy. Also, you can beat Ich with proper nutrition and no meds. What fish is affected?

Hey dan,

I would get rid of the mushroom rock. Polyps look fine. The xenia (tree-like soft coral) is also considered a weed. people do like it, and I have some in my system, but in a small tank it can become a PITA. You'll see when you come over and talk to ther reefers. PM sent.

To answer your question, there is nothing available presently now to eliminate ich in a reef tank.
Ich is the easiest malady to cure, unfortunately the cure kills inverts much quicker than it kills ich.

Hey Dan, nice to meet you today. I know Dahn and I laid a lot on your plate, so don't hesitate to contact one of us if you get stuck. I think you have a good plan going forward, and when your cycle is truly done, you will be able to start building a sweet reef. :)

BTW J. Your tank is definitely looking a lot better than when I saw it last.
Thanks for the frags bro. They are in and polyps extended already.

I started the qt tank just waiting for it to get up to temp. the foxface has small white bumps on him as well(not to many) thank you for the help. if you can send some recipes for food that would be great.

I personally use raw shrimp (deshelled and cleaned of course), clam, mussels, oyster (if you can find some really fresh ones), selcon(if you have it), throw in some frozen mysis shrimp and fortified brine shrimp. Make sure you rinse everything in purified water first though and cup it all in smaller chunks so that it is easier to blend. Add a little RO/DI water into the mixture and start your blender. Only run it for a couple minutes then pause for a minute and then again for a couple minutes, this is so the mixture doesn't get too heated and get cooked. Once it is nicely blended, I put the entire thing into a large ziplock bag, flatten it out and place in the freezer to freeze.

Jonathan may have some other ingredients he uses as well.

I switch it up as much as I can and use some additional items like shredded nori (KIZAMI from Central Market), silversides, plankton, fresh fish, vitamins, Garlic Guard, Frozen Prime Reef One & Two, krill, spirulina pellets, frozen cyclop-eeze, etc.

You can check out where I got the idea at Melevs Reef and even view as video podcast of him making it. I DO NOT recommend the phyto as we discussed today.

As far as the foxface goes, i have a good quality Ich remedy that you can use as I have a boatload of it. If you are going to treat it, you need to isolate it, particularly from teh anemone. get in touch tomorrow and I'll pass off the remedy in case you need it.
