Well with the api test kit it's not changing color of the yellow tint of zero. I'll get different kit later tonight if I have the time

Is algae all over the tank or just one spot?
If it's all over the tank, it maybe consuming the phosphate in the tank and influening the test result.

I happened upon this by mistake...a ole time fellow reefer friend told me that he was keeping his mag level in the 1400-1600 range because it makes it easier for his SPS to absorb the Ca & Alk thus speeding up his growth. So I figured I give it a try for my LPS. Well it seemed to be working as my LPS just took off but here's the kicker...it also killed off my lil issue of Red Turf algae that I was having :) Of course I was using the Kent Tech-M so maybe that's why. As it's often used to kill the very stubborn Bryopsis Algae.

By the way, did you check your RO/DI filter?
It's usually the first place I check when I see algae in my tank.

Just changed them all out last month. Zero tds. Haven't ran any other on it as its always been good.

Do you run a phosphate reactor?
I used to battle a major hair algae problems.
Once I put BRS Phosphate reactor with GFO inline, this problem went away.
