Hi I am new here and I have been trying to get an ID on this coral.I hope I am in the right place for that here is a picture. it has developed what appears to be two mouths right in the center is this posssible? Thank you.cindy

Thanks fishy, I have been feeding it coral frenzy and target feeding twice a week. think thats good or do I need something else? do these divide? I really dont know much about them but I have looked everywhere..thanks for your reply..Cindy

Ya, meatier foods (inverts, fish pieces) that it can grab and ingest. Variety is good, keep the pieces small enough to be digested without just adding pollutants to the water

Thanks Guy's, I gave him a tiny piece of raw shrimp and within a couple of minutes he got big and frilly and wrapped himself around it and about 30 minutes later started he started opening again and is now almost back to normal and the shrimp was nowhere to be found that was amazing he just became one of my favorite corals.....:D

EEEEW well thanks for the warning I didn't even think about that. is the waste harmful to my tank can it cause ammonia to spike I can't imagine it would be a problem the amount fed was tiny. so how long before this happens???

Not a problem, just make sure you only feed it a couple times a week at most and small pieces. Many don't even feed theirs (photosynthetic and night filter feeder), but they seem to grow fastest with food.

The amount of time it takes varies depending on what is being fed and how fast it's digested, which is also dependent on other variables in the tank.

It's really nothing to worry about, but I wouldn't let it settle on other corals. You think that's "ewww," wait until you see fish eating it!!! EWWW
