ID this invert PLEASE!

I found this snail cruising around in my refugium. This guy is huge. He has a forked front and a forked back, with a huge funnel that seems to hunt for food in addition to its mouth. He extremely fast. I have never seen a snail move this fast and I am worried if for some reason he may be harmful to the tank.
 
Can't quite tell, looks like one of the larger sand sifter nassarius snails. If it is, generally harmless, although they do steal food from corals..
 
It does look similar except that it has a completly white foot and a very long tube (approx 2 1/2")
 
try doing a search on whelk. If it doesn't look like a whelk it should be a nasarius and harmless.whelks can be predatory, I've read. I had a fancy nasarius that was interesting. I gave him to a friend with a sandbed when I went BB.
