Does anybody know what type of snail this is? It lives on a colony of zoas. These are the best pics I could get as it only comes out at night. It is black and white and resembles a snake pattern.

Yep...get it out. Commonly called a Sundial Snail (Heliacus sp.). Typically more nocturnal. Scour the colony and rock and make sure there aren't more hiding.

I was wandering why he was only on my Zoa's. My lfs sold me the rock and said the snail was harmless, He's gone asap. thanks guys.

I just took the snail out and it was very nice looking. It looks like it has a drill bit attached to him. I'll keep him in the quarantine tank for now.

I think this snail laid eggs on my zoa's. I see white stringy, criss cross strings on my colony.

Well, today I did a freshwater dip on all my zoa colonies. All three of them that is. I managed to get 1 nudi, 1 zoa munching starfish "those lil white ones" and 4 sac's of nudi eggs. And of course that dial snail and her evil eggs. Those eggs were tough to suck up with the syringe, I hope I got them all. Can I do another dip tomorrow or do I have to wait another day?
