ok for the past 2 years i've been keeping this anemone.
At first i thought it was a wild zoo or something, it never moved from the spot it was before until i added my LTA.
It's been moving like crazy, first it moved all the way up on the glass like trying to get out :D and now it's between my zoos.
it's not aptasia, unless you guys think otherwise and it hasn't split the whole time (thank god :p) .

Any ideas doods and doodettes?

I've seen both rock anemones and mini-carpet anemones that can be pretty small. From what I've been told, they aren't a problem and won't sting corals like aptasia will. I'm just surprised that one has stayed that small. Some guy on RC was selling the mini-carpets that were about 1"-2" and actually looked pretty cool.

Not sure what they are Gabster...Sorry. I don't really know much at all which sucks:( Go figure...a 4.0 student in school, and I don't know didley(LOL)

ROFLMAO!! Oh him!!!(LOL) I just saw the arrow pointing to him(LOL) I didn't realize you had to scroll across...Yeah, definately looks like a little anemone...

LOL!! krish, you know your stuff so don't even start it :D dood.
besides you do'nt know it because it's not a bahamian anemone :( .

you know Blazer dood that's why i thought it was a zoo without color or something like that, but after the LTA was added it's been just running around, it's been like that since the first time i added my rock in the tank which is 2 years.
i tried removing it but it closes/ shrinks really fast

If that is what you have and you've had it two years, I'd just maintain the staus quo. I have never found any relavent info about them although I would suspect it could be similar in nature to Aiptasia or Bartholomea. They don't typically get much larger than that and direct feeding would most likely result in more of them. Whether thats a good or bad thing, I couldn't tell you.

Cheers

Hi,
I can't tell from your picture for sure, but they remind me of what I have in my 80: 1/4" wide mobile anemones that are lime green to greenish-tan across the top with a very pale outer margin. They have short pointed tentacles, far fewer than on a zoanthid. These guys will move if shaded, reproduce readily and feed on fish food scraps (unlike my zoanthids). They will sting and kill some coral overnight-one crept up onto a nice purple montipora digitata and wiped out 2 square inches in 24 hours. Several moved onto a star polyp colony and made it close up but didn't kill.

On the plus side they are easy to peel off with anything pointed-just peel up an edge and then poke and tickle it till it lets go. I use bamboo skewers. If they are on the back side of the tank or above coral I leave them but if below I remove as they are likely to move up for more light and kill anything in its path along the way. You can also shade the coral and they will leave the area. I am one of the weird people who doesn't kill all pest anemones on sight. If they want to colonize and hide my ugly overflow so be it, long as they leave my other coral alone.
This sound like what you have?
I still don't have an ID :), just wanted to warn you that they will kill some coral.
