I have noticed for the past week that my Idol always goes to the same spot to poop. Its a little space in one of the corners of the tank and he swims over to it and lets all hell loose with some massive deposits. All my other fish poop when they feel like it and where they feel like it (kinda jealous of them). Anyways, have you guys ever noticed this behavior from your fish?
My leopard gecko and dog always poop in the same place too. Although I couldn't imagine the behavior to be for the same reasons. I think the dog poops in one spot because he's marking his territory. The gecko poops in one spot because I think he wants to keep his home clean and not have to worry about stepping in his own poop when he's walking around in the dark. But neither of these would be a reason why the fish poops in the same spot. The current would quickly dissipate the poop so I could not imagine what reason they do this. Any idea?
I think I spend way too much time watching my fish if I know that one has a special poop place.
